do voluntary work.Elisa asked me if i wanted to volunteer being an usher for
the Sapphire Crystal Nite thinga where Victor Wong (aka Ping Guan) would be performing. Jia Ying's aunt's one of the organisers or something, so we get to do the jobs.
"SUre, easy peasy job and i get to watch a concert. why not?"
so saturday came and i was feeling awfully sleepy but i had to drag my ass over to el's place so we could go together and not get lost somewhere in JP. we got there about 6:30. decided to go for dinner. strolled around the restaurant areas. not very appetizing. saw veronica and aunling but was blind so did not realise it.
"hey el, your friends kah, they're smiling at you"
"no, i dunno them lah."
walk over.
"OHH hi aunling, hi vero, sorry, i was blind."
they were there to catch the concert too =). got some drinks and walked to the amphitheatre. what a long walk! (forgive me, even 50m is too long for me, im not a healthy person.) carmen's mom passed by us and stopped, to ask directions from a security guard. el and i shouted "CARMEN! GIVE US A RIDE! CARMEN!" and she just ignored us. hahahahaha. actually her mom's kinda scary so we just kept quiet and walked on.
being the usher is kinda interesting. a first time experience for me!=D i memorised the seating arrangement at one glance of the map (it was easy wah!) i was serious about my job okay! hahaha =D
my tag. even though it's ugly as hell, we had to give it back by the end of the show. (something bout using it for the next show... performed by Guang Liang?) i wanna volunteer again!
stood myself at the entrance, going "do you need help looking for your seats?" at every other person. some just acted like as if i was transparent. it didn't affect me hehehe i wont be seeing those people any time in future anyways, and even if i did, i wouldn't remember them and neither would they remember me so yeah. service with a smile =D haha
the concert started only at 9pm! and it was drizzling. kfft. opening act started off with 3 local female artists. one of the works in the MoE, sang kiroro's miraie and sinaran by one of the popular malay artist whose name i forgot. not bad. then came the main show, Victor Wong!! he's not hot, he's not so famous, but he's SO nice, SO sweet, and from what i heard he has really soft hands. hahahaha. 80% of the audiences ran and crowded the front (including us ushers hehehe) to have a "close look" at him. he said "wow, i've never had such passionate audience." look at the crowd!!
nah, im just bluffing. the amphitheatre was barely half filled. so sad. but we were a good audience, we were very supportive. once again, quality over quantity!! 2 girls went up stage mid-song to give him flowers (awww..)
no, they weren't making out, he was giving her a hug.Victor gave us, what i can say, the most interactive concert i've been to (not that i've been to much anyways). he came off the stage a couple of times to shake hands with alllllll the audiences. so nice of him. and he had a request section, playing all songs we wanted to hear. me and the rest of the ushers sat RIGHT AT THE CENTRE, in the FRONTMOST. hahahaha. on the floor. not so glam now, isn't it. LOL. did i mention he's a wonderful guitarist? i am gonna marry a guy who can play guitar like that. acoustic one, i mean. oh and of course, we must not forget, i will also marry a
guy who can play saxophone. and his voice is oOoOOOooooo....
after the concert there were dozens of people approaching us with questions like
"are his CDs still on sale?" (we were selling them at the entrance before the concert started)
"do you know when is the autograph session?" (the next day, sunday 30thApril, AsmaHotel)
"do you know his phone number?" hahahaha just kidding. i'm convinced he bagged some fans with his performance. he was THAT lovable.
